Scanorama is a participatory visual environment primarily aimed for children, where they can not only enjoy an animated screening but become co‑creators by coloring various shapes on paper. The participants’ works are individually integrated into the composition, so every child personally contributes to the interactive spectacle. Their drawings are instantly scanned and become dynamic, animated parts of a larger, shared visual narrative. Based on the season, different scenes come alive. So far we have built three sceneries:
This scene portrays the characteristic wildlife and vegetation of Lake Balaton. Children can color sailcloth, different fish species, frogs, snakes, or even create a custom airplane banner. The scanned drawings immediately come to life in the projection, adding a personal layer to the shared Balaton landscape.

This musical visual depicts a mass of playful, slightly grotesque jazz band musicians. Visitors can select and color an instrument, which - after being scanned - is placed into the hands of the corresponding musician. The interaction triggers a short instrumental solo, while the figure performs the movement characteristic of playing that instrument. During the screening, children can learn about the shape and sound of the different instruments, as well as the musicians’ movements. In the background, more and more unique instruments gather, indicating the richness of the collective creation.

In this cozy, festive installation, guests can create unique Christmas ornaments and gift wrappings, which appear under or on the Christmas tree. To boost the festive mood even further, thematic animations take place in the background.
