Csontváry Postcards is a participatory visual environment created as a supplementary installation for the immersive Csontváry experience showcased at CODE Veszprém. The piece invites visitors to step directly into the scene of Esti halászat Castellammareban (1901) by Csontváry Kosztka Tivadar - and send home a video recording of their moment inside the painting.

Unlike the classical selfie culture, where the viewer stands with their back to the landscape, this installation reverses the role. Here, the visitor becomes part of the image while looking outward, enjoying the view rather than turning away from it. The swirling particles of the reconstructed landscape respond to presence: as the visitor steps into the space, the scene forms around them, gradually assembling into a living, reimagined interpretation of Csontváry’s painting.
